In view of the increasing impact of the ongoing conflict in West Asia, the Central Government has taken an important step. The Central Government has formed 7 Empowered Groups to deal with the West Asia crisis. Since the ongoing war and tension in West Asia is impacting the global economy, energy supply and trade, the government has prepared a multi-level strategy considering the possibility of its impact on India as well.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in Parliament that this crisis can have a long-term impact and due to this the pressure on fuel, gas, fertilizers and supply chains has increased. The purpose behind forming 7 Empowered Groups is that the Central Government has formed these groups in the same manner as the model adopted during Covid-19. The Prime Minister made it clear that the worst impact of this crisis falls on the poor and migrant workers.
He urged the state governments to deliver the benefits of PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana on time and take pro-active steps for the safety of the workers. Along with this, he gave a strict warning that in times of crisis, immediate action should be taken against those involved in black marketing and hoarding so that the supply of essential commodities continues uninterrupted. India is in alert mode regarding the West Asia crisis and by forming 7 Empowered Groups, the government has indicated that it is ready for coordinated and swift action in every area.
