On the occasion of Durga Ashtami, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta distributed bicycles to 1100 girl students taking admission in class 10th this year in government schools of Shalimar Bagh assembly constituency. This program was organized in the premises of Sarvodaya Vidyalaya located in Pitampura. Many girl students became emotional after receiving the bicycle. He expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister.

Addressing the program, the Chief Minister bowed to the daughters, calling them goddesses and said that Navratri is not just a festival of worship, but also a festival of honoring daughters and taking resolutions for their strong future. He filled the atmosphere with energy by chanting Jai Mata Di while wishing Navratri and Durga Ashtami.

Government will support from birth till graduation

The Chief Minister said that in the recently presented Delhi budget, he has tried to include maximum schemes for daughters, sisters and women. So that this section of the society can become strong and self-reliant. Referring to the Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana in an emotional tone, the Chief Minister said that now the government itself will lay the financial foundation for the future of every daughter born in Delhi.

He told that from the birth of the daughter till her first, sixth, ninth, twelfth class and then every year of college, the government will deposit financial assistance directly in her account. By the time she completes her graduation, every daughter will get an assistance of around Rs 1.25 lakh, so that she can move forward in life with confidence by becoming a millionaire daughter. The Chief Minister said that she wants every daughter of Delhi to study not only in school but also in college, stand on her own feet and create her own future.

Bicycle distribution: easy access to education

The Chief Minister said that when he learned about the problems of girl students, he came to know that due to difficulty in commuting to school, studies are often affected, and some girls even have to leave school. To solve this problem, the government decided that every year every girl student coming in class ninth will be given a bicycle. This year about 1,30,000 girl students will get its benefit.

He said that while the government will give bicycles to the girl students of class 9, on this occasion, he has gifted cycles to the girl students of class 10 as a personal initiative. The Chief Minister asked the girl students, do you know how to ride a bicycle? If you don't know, then learn that too. Now you will complete your studies on your own.

No politics on daughters' respect

Taking a strong stand on some political comments, the Chief Minister said that the objectionable comments made on schemes like giving bicycles to daughters are extremely shameful. He said that our daughters are goddesses, it is unfortunate to talk like this on the plans made for their future. They feel ashamed of such thinking.

Dreams got a platform

The most emotional moment of the program was when the Chief Minister went among the girl students and started communicating with them directly. Many girl students looked emotional after meeting the Chief Minister and many girl students shed tears. Someone shared his dream of becoming an IAS while someone expressed happiness of getting a bicycle to reach school on time. A student said that she had never thought that she would get the opportunity to meet the Chief Minister and she was very happy to see so many schemes for her daughters.
