India has taken a big decision to further strengthen its military strength. Approval of requirement (AoN) has been given to proposals worth about Rs 2.38 lakh crore in the Defense Acquisition Council (DAC) meeting chaired by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. In this, air defense tracked system, tank destroying ammunition, high capacity radio relay, Dhanush gun system and runway surveillance system have been approved for the Indian Army.
Air defense system will enable immediate monitoring of air threats. High capacity radio relay will help in robust and reliable communication. Dhanush gun will provide accurate attack on the enemy at long range. The surveillance system will help the army in surveillance. Not only this, enemy tanks can be destroyed more effectively with anti-tank ammunition.
Overhaul of medium transport aircraft, S-400 missile system, remotely piloted strike aircraft and Su-30 engines has been approved for the Indian Air Force. The new transport aircraft will replace the old AN-32 and IL-76, which will improve air transport capacity. The S-400 system will provide protection against long-range air threats.
