A case of firing on Indian Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) has come to light from Pakistan side in the international border area of Jammu. However, there is no news of any damage. According to the report, a total of 5 rounds were fired from Pakistani posts in Kanachak sector last night. Of these, 4 rounds were fired from Pakistani post Kheri and 1 round from Aslam post.
According to the information, Indian RPA was conducting regular surveillance (sortie) in its own area, when this firing was done from Pakistan side. However, there was no damage to the Indian drone in this incident and it returned safely. This incident has come to light at a time when there have been many incidents of ceasefire violations by Pakistan on the border in the past, to which the Indian Army has responded.
This action of Pakistan Border Forces may increase tension. Last year both the countries witnessed violent conflict. Since the Pahalgam attack, tension has increased between the two countries and even a small spark of provocation can turn into war, hence this action of Pakistan is being considered extremely irresponsible and provocative.
