
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta told a press conference on Tuesday (April 7) that the process of regularization of unauthorized colonies has started. He said that Delhi is getting the benefit of having a double engine government. He said that PM Uday Yojana was brought for illegal colonies in 2019. Till now about 40 thousand authorization letters have been given. On this occasion, Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Taranjit Singh Sandhu were also present with him.
While sharing a post on social media, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said, 'Today has brought a new chapter of relief, respect and rights in the lives of 45 lakh people of Delhi.' He said that Prime Minister Modi understood this pain unseen for years, felt the dreams of those families who were deprived of rights even while living in their own homes. He said that this sensitive thinking paved the way for PM Uday Yojana and today the path has been cleared for regularization of 1511 unauthorized colonies out of 1731.
He told that the application process will start from April 24, the deadline has been fixed for GIS survey in 7 days, process to remove the deficiencies in the application in 15 days and issuance of conveyance deed in 45 days, so that people can get their rights without any delay.

CM said that the Central Government and the Delhi Government together removed 22 major obstacles in this process so that lakhs of families can get their rights without getting stuck, hanging or wandering. He said that small shops up to 20 square meters will also be regularized with conditions, which will also provide relief to small traders.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the future of Delhi is also being strengthened as per the visionary thinking of the Prime Minister. Transit Oriented Development (TOD) policy is being taken forward. Under this, planned, high-density and mixed use development will be promoted in an area of about 207 square kilometers within a radius of 500 meters around the Metro and RRTS corridor. He said that this will pave the way for affordable housing, better connectivity and easier life, especially for the poor and middle class families.
Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that under the guidance of the Prime Minister, a new chapter of respect and rights has started today for the residents of unauthorized colonies of Delhi. He said that now the circle rate will remain the same in Delhi, earlier there were 3 different rates, DDA, Delhi Government and L&DO, now the notification for unification was issued in January. He said that in 2019 we made a law to give ownership rights under UDAY scheme but the Delhi government did not allow it to be implemented, from today it is being regularized.

He said that these rules are for the colonies built till now, any construction after today will be under the rules of MCD. He said that today is a big day for Delhi, the Central Government is bringing this scheme in collaboration with Delhi Government, DDA, MCD. He said that housing will be built within a radius of 500 meters on both sides of the metro network, Namo Rail and old railway stations. Affordable houses will be built. The distance between people's home and office will be reduced. This policy will also be applicable in the proposed metro project.
