There is a scene in this film, where the film's lead child actor Macaulay Culkin's character Kevin McAllister is seen in the Hotel Plaza. In this scene, he finds Trump walking in a corridor. Although it was a cameo role, this scene was actually the result of Trump's insistence. According to the film's director Chris Columbus, Trump was the owner of this hotel at that time and when the film crew went to him with the proposal of shooting, he put a condition before the makers.

We finally shot a special scene with him. We wanted to remove it later during the final edit, but then we saw the reactions of some people and we thought that we should keep this scene.
