
Voting will start in Kerala, Assam and Puducherry a few hours from now. Voting is going on in 126 assembly seats of Assam, 140 of Kerala and 30 of Puducherry in a single phase while the results will be declared on May 4. There is a war between Himanta Biswa Sarma and Gaurav Gogoi in Assam. At the same time, there is a contest between LDF, UDF and NDA in Kerala. There is a tough contest between NDA and UPA in Puducherry.
The fate of a total of 1899 candidates is at stake in two states and one union territory. 722 candidates are in the electoral fray in Assam. Maximum 863 candidates are trying in Kerala. Whereas in Puducherry, 294 candidates are contesting.
This time's elections in Assam are going to be very interesting. The total number of voters in Assam is 2.50 crore. There are 1.25 crore male voters in this while the number of female voters is 1.25 crore. The majority figure is 64. There is BJP government in Assam for the last 10 years. Himanta is one of the biggest faces of BJP while Gaurav is giving a direct challenge to save his father's legacy and bring Congress back to power. After the Lok Sabha elections held in 2024, Gaurav's popularity has increased especially among women voters. In Assam, seats like Jalukbari, Jorhat, Sivasagar, Sivasagar, Dispur, Dhubri, Nagaon, Mariani, Karimganj, Guwahati Central are hot.
Pinarayi Vijayan is the Chief Minister of Kerala since 2106 and is leading the LDF government. There are total 2.7 crore voters in Kerala. UDF is in the role of opposition. The majority figure here is 71. 2.71 crore voters in Kerala will decide the fate of 883 candidates of LDF, UDF and NDA. 30 thousand 495 polling booths have been made in the state.
Till now there has been competition between LDF and UDF in the state. But now BJP is also rapidly strengthening its roots. Out of 2.71 crore voters in the state, 1.32 crore are male and 1.39 crore are female voters. Apart from this, there are 273 transgender voters. If we talk about hot seats in the state, they include Nemam, Manjeshwaram, Palakkad, Kottarakkara, and Thrissur, where a close contest can be seen.
There are 9.44 lakh voters in Puducherry. These include 4.43 lakh male and 5 lakh female voters. Apart from this, there are 139 third-gender voters. The majority figure here is 16. 294 candidates are trying their luck. In the last assembly elections, NDA had won 16 seats with 44.2 percent vote share, while UPA had won eight seats. N Rangaswamy took oath as CM for the fourth time. Polling personnel have reached all the polling booths. Strict security arrangements have been made in all the states.
