US-Iran ceasefire more than 24 hours, are Washington and Tehran keeping their promises?

It has been more than 24 hours since the ceasefire between America and Iran. After the ceasefire, it was expected that peace would come in the Middle East. The attacks will stop. Ships will be able to pass through the Strait of Hormuz easily. The oil and gas crisis will end. Leaders will become soft. Is this happening on the ground? Are America and Iran keeping their promises?

So the answer is absolutely not. Neither the attacks have stopped nor the Strait of Hormuz is open. Israel is carrying out rapid attacks in Lebanon. After the ceasefire, more than 200 people have died in the Israeli attack. Iranian officials say the US and Israel have reneged on the terms by claiming that Lebanon was not included in the ceasefire agreement.

What did Iran-America say on Lebanon?

Lebanon was also mentioned in the 10-point plan that Iran presented to America for peace. Tehran had said that hostilities should be ended on all fronts including Lebanon. But America has now said that Lebanon was not included in the ceasefire deal. US President Donald Trump said that Lebanon is not part of the ceasefire agreement.

US Vice President JD Vance has also said that during the talks, the Iranian side's belief that Lebanon was also included in the ceasefire agreement was the result of a misunderstanding. At the same time, Iran has said that if Israeli attacks against Lebanon continue, it will unilaterally end the ceasefire.

Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baghar Ghalibaf said that calling for a bilateral ceasefire or talks is irrational. He mentioned three such violations of the ceasefire, which according to him were committed on Wednesday.

In a post on X, Ghalibaf said Israel's continued attacks on Lebanon violate the first condition of the ceasefire agreement. The Iranian speaker also listed the cessation of attacks on Iran and Iran's right to enrichment as two other conditions, and said that despite the ceasefire, a drone was destroyed over the city of Lar in Fars province.

opposition to israel

Syria's Foreign Ministry said that Israel violated international law and the principles of the UN Charter by attacking Lebanon and killing hundreds of people. In a statement shared on X, the ministry called for an immediate ceasefire and full implementation of relevant UN Security Council resolutions to ensure the protection of civilians and respect for Lebanon's sovereignty.

Has the Strait of Hormuz opened?

There is also talk of control over the Strait of Hormuz in Iran's 10-point plan. After the ceasefire it was said that the Strait of Hormuz would be completely opened and ships would be able to pass easily. but it's not like that. After the ceasefire, till now only 2 to 3 ships have been able to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has said that if ceasefire violations continue, the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed. Tankers stuck in the Persian Gulf are still apprehensive about crossing it.

Netanyahu came to know at the last stage

According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, Israel was not happy that it learned about the ceasefire agreement at the last stage and was not consulted. A White House official said that Trump had called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shortly before the ceasefire was announced. Later, Netanyahu agreed to join the ceasefire.

So will Iran break the ceasefire?

According to Iranian media, if Israel continues to violate the ceasefire agreement with the US by attacking Lebanon, Iran will withdraw from the agreement. Tehran is reviewing the situation. Iranian media said that under the ceasefire plan, the US had agreed to stop fighting on all fronts, including Lebanon.
