We are not with you in the blockade of Hormuz… Britain rejects President Trump's claim

On one hand, peace talks with Iran have failed and on the other hand, America is not succeeding in keeping its allies with it. In fact, the response that has come from Britain regarding the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is worrying for Trump. Trump had said that Britain would send warships to help in the blockade of Hormuz. However, Britain has rejected this claim of Trump. He said that Britain would not take part in the American blockade.

Earlier, during the war between Iran and America, Britain had made its position clear regarding joining the war. Britain had clearly told Trump that it was not going to support him in the war against Iran.

Announcement of blockade of Hormuz Strait

US President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that the US Navy will begin an immediate blockade to prevent ships from entering or exiting the Strait of Hormuz, hours after peace talks with Tehran over the nuclear weapons issue failed. Trump said in a post on Truth Social that he has directed the US Navy to identify and stop all ships in international waters that have paid tolls to Iran.

illegal to pay toll

He said that whoever pays illegal toll will not be allowed to travel safely in the sea. He claimed that other countries will also join this blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. Hormuz is a very important and narrow sea route, through which about one fifth of the world's total oil supply is transported.

Trump said that he wants money and more importantly, he wants nukes. Apart from this, we are fully prepared and ready and our army will completely destroy the remaining part of Iran at the appropriate time. The US President said that he was briefed by Vice President JD Vance, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner about the talks held with Iranian leaders in Islamabad.

There was no consensus on nuclear

"So, the thing is, the meeting went well, there was agreement on most points, but the only issue that really mattered, i.e. nuclear, was not agreed upon," Trump said. He praised the role played by Pakistan's Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in hosting the talks in Islamabad. Trump said that both of them are tremendous people and they constantly thank me for saving the lives of 30 to 50 million people in a conflict that could have been a devastating war with India. I always feel good hearing this.

He said that the points that could have been agreed upon with the Iranian leadership were better than carrying out military operations to their conclusion. Trump said that all these things do not matter compared to handing over nuclear energy into the hands of such unstable and unpredictable people. He said that the three US representatives were very friendly towards the Iranian representatives – Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Abbas Araghchi and Ali Bagheri and behaved respectfully towards them.

Iran should not have nuclear weapons

"But it doesn't matter because he was very adamant on the most important issue, and as I have always said, from the beginning, and many years ago, Iran should never have nuclear weapons," Trump said. Since the war between the US and Israel began on February 28, at least 3,000 people have been killed in Iran, 2,020 in Lebanon, 23 in Israel and more than 12 in the Gulf Arab countries, and there has been permanent damage to infrastructure in about six countries in West Asia.

Iran's hold on the Strait of Hormuz has largely cut the Persian Gulf and its oil and gas exports out of reach of the global economy, sending fuel prices skyrocketing.
