Gold Rate Today: There was a decline in the stock market in the beginning today, but recovery soon came. Sensex and Nifty were under pressure earlier, but by 11 am both the indices came in the green. At the same time, weakness remained in the commodity market. On April 20, both gold and silver opened with a decline in the futures market. With the opening on MCX, silver fell by around Rs 4,000, while gold also became cheaper by around Rs 1,600. Silver for delivery on May 5 had closed at Rs 2,57,142 per kg in the last session, which opened at Rs 2,53,453 today and slipped by Rs 3,944 to reach Rs 2,53,198 in early trade.

Gold prices also showed weakness during early trading. Gold for delivery on June 5 had closed at Rs 1,54,609 per 10 grams in the last session. Today it opened at Rs 1,53,158 and fell by Rs 1,591 to Rs 1,53,000 in early trade. At 9:15 am, it was seen trading at Rs 1,53,041 with a weakness of Rs 1,568 or 1.01 percent.

Gold prices in spot market

A decline in the price of gold was also recorded in the spot market. According to the data of Good Returns, today gold in the country became cheaper by about Rs 490 to Rs 1,55,290. At the same time, silver prices also remained soft. Silver prices in the spot market were also seen trading under pressure like in the futures market. That means, if you want to buy 10 grams of gold, you will have to spend around Rs 1 lakh 55 thousand.
