Projects worth crores for farmers, health, education sector…big decisions in MP Council of Ministers meeting

An important meeting of the Council of Ministers was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. During this period, the MP government took historic decisions in the interest of farmers. The government said that the multiplication factor on land acquisition of agricultural land has been doubled. With this, farmers will now get 4 times the market rate instead of double the compensation for the acquired agricultural land. This decision will be applicable to the agricultural land of the entire state.

Madhya Pradesh Government It has been told that the Council of Ministers has kept the compensation multiplication factor as it is in the urban limits. Along with this, the Council of Ministers has also approved about Rs 33 thousand 985 crore for infrastructure construction and development works like irrigation, health, education and roads.

Farmers will benefit from 4 times compensation

With this decision, farmers will be able to get more money on agricultural land acquired by the Central and State Government for important works like irrigation projects, roads, bridges, railways and dam construction. This will not only speed up the development work, but will also significantly improve the economic condition of the farmer families who gave the land.

In this regard, the sub-committee of ministers Tulsiram Silavat, Rakesh Singh and Chetanya Kumar Kashyap had made recommendations. The sub-committee had prepared this report after studying the policies of other states as well as discussing with various farmer organizations CREDAI, CII and FICCI. Thousands of families of the state will directly benefit from this transparent and farmer-friendly decision of the government.

Indokh-Rudahera Micro Irrigation Project

The Council of Ministers has decided to provide administrative approval for the Indokh-Rudahera micro irrigation project of Ujjain district, costing Rs 157 crore 14 lakh and irrigation area 10,800 hectares. 35 villages of Jharra tehsil will benefit from irrigation facility from the project.

Chhindwara Irrigation Complex Rehabilitation Project

A special rehabilitation package of about Rs 969 crore has been approved by the Council of Ministers for rehabilitation of Chhindwara Irrigation Complex Project instead of the sanctioned amount of Rs 840 crore 80 lakh. It has been decided to provide this special package on par with the Ken-Betwa Inter-State River Linking Project for quick implementation and required support of the displaced people.

Under Chhindwara Irrigation Complex Project, Sangam 1 Dam, Sangam 2 Dam in Chhindwara district, Ramghat Dam and Belensig Reservoir (Pandhurna) in Pandhurna district, thus a total of 4 dams are proposed, which will provide irrigation facility in 1,90,500 hectare area of ​​Chhindwara and Pandhurna districts. 369 villages of Chhindwara district and 259 villages of Pandhurna district will be benefited from the project, thus a total of 628 villages will be benefited.

Rs 25,164 crore in public works development works

The Council of Ministers has approved Rs 25,164 crore for development works under the Public Works Department. Rs 7 thousand 212 crore for continuous construction and operation of roads through Road Development Corporation from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2031, Rs 6 thousand 150 crore for continuation of construction and upgradation of rural roads and other district roads, Rs 1 thousand 87 crore for upgradation of bridges and roads, Rs 1 thousand 87 crore for repair of buildings and maintenance of departmental assets. Approval of Rs 765 crore and Rs 9 thousand 950 crore has been given for the scheme of construction of major bridges to be continued and operated during the period of the Sixteenth Finance Commission (April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2031).

How much amount in free bicycle supply scheme

Under the School Education Department, the Council of Ministers has sanctioned Rs 990 crore for continuing the free cycle supply scheme related to providing bicycles to the students studying in class 6th and class 9th in government schools in rural areas from the financial year 2026-27 to 2030-31 and Rs 1,200 crore 44 lakh for the operation of 8 schemes related to salary allowances, office expenses and strengthening of institutions of teacher training institutions. Approval has been granted.

Rs 5,479 crore for advanced medical services

The Cabinet has approved Rs 5,479 crore for providing advanced medical services in the state, upgradation of medical colleges and establishment of a new government medical college in Mandla under the Public Health and Medical Education Department.

As per the approval, Rs 3 thousand 628 crore has been approved for the continuous operation of the Chief Minister Comprehensive and Advanced Tertiary Health Services Institution Strengthening Scheme (CM CARE 2025) scheme for 5 years. Through the scheme, provision is being made to establish oncology (surgical, medical and radiation), cardiology, cardiac surgery and organ transplant units etc. under the strengthening of super specialty health services in government and autonomous medical colleges and private sector as a powerful hub of tertiary health services.

Along with this, Rs 1,503 crore was sanctioned for upgradation of medical colleges. According to the approval, this scheme will expand medical facilities in medical colleges for the next 5 years.

For the construction of a new Government Medical College in Mandla, revised administrative approval of Rs 347 crore 39 lakh has been given instead of the previously approved Rs 249 crore 63 lakh. Due to increase in cost due to technical reasons due to change of venue, revised administrative approval has been given.

Approval for establishment of family residence

The Council of Ministers has given approval to establish family residences through charitable institutions in the premises of selected medical colleges of the state. The institutions will establish such family rest homes with their own financial resources, for which the government will not provide any financial assistance. The fees charged by the institution for services will be determined by a committee constituted by the government.

Patients from far and wide come to the hospitals related to the medical college. Family members also come with them. Many of these relatives end up sleeping in the hospital premises due to not being able to bear the expense of arranging accommodation outside the hospital premises. This puts additional pressure on the cleanliness system of the hospital premises,

The Council of Ministers has approved the creation of 15 posts for the tenure period for carrying out the work of the Sixth State Finance Commission. The Sixth State Finance Commission has been constituted by the state government.
