Shivkumar Sharma, a resident of Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, who had come to watch his son Divyanshu win two gold medals at the convocation ceremony of Kalaburagi Central University in Karnataka, met with a tragic accident when his auto overturned. At the time of celebration, his son was deeply shocked by the loss of his father and the festive atmosphere of the house was engulfed in mourning.
A father, who had come to witness the historic moment of his son winning two gold medals at the university's convocation ceremony, died in a road accident in Kalaburagi. The family, which was celebrating their son's achievement, is now immersed in mourning. The deceased has been identified as 59-year-old Shivkumar Sharma, resident of Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.
Divyanshu Saxena, son of Ujjain resident Shivkumar Sharma, is pursuing B.Tech (E&C) at Central Karnataka University (CUK), Kalaburagi and has won two gold medals. Divyanshu received this gold medal yesterday (April 22) at the 10th convocation ceremony of the university. His father Shivkumar had come to Kalaburagi from Madhya Pradesh to see this achievement of his son.
Shivkumar Sharma was going by auto to attend the convocation ceremony at the university campus located near Kadganchi village of Alanda taluk on Wednesday morning. The auto driver lost control and the vehicle overturned, due to which he died on the spot. Other people traveling in the auto suffered minor injuries.
On one side, his son Divyanshu was celebrating on the stage after receiving the medal, while on the other side, his father, who had raised him, was lying dead in a nearby hospital. Seeing this scene, everyone present there had tears in their eyes. A case has been registered in Narona police station regarding this incident.
