Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that all kinds of facilities should be available to the farmers coming to sell their produce in the markets and they should not face any kind of problem. Arrangements of weighing scales, hammocks, shade, water etc. should be ensured at the procurement centres. All collectors must review wheat procurement, transportation arrangements, storage and payments to farmers every day. Chana and lentils should be purchased inside the shed in the market so that there is no damage due to untimely rains.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that wide publicity should be ensured at the district level regarding the arrangements for procurement of gram and lentils. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav gave these instructions to the district collectors during the review of wheat procurement in the state through video conferencing at Samatva Bhawan located at the Chief Minister's residence. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav thanked Prime Minister Modi for increasing the target of wheat procurement to 100 lakh metric tons.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that arrangements for necessary gunny bags have been made in the state. Availability of gunny bags for 7 days purchase should be ensured at every procurement centre. There should be a provision of minimum 6 electronic weighbridges at each procurement center and wheat should be procured only as per the prescribed parameters. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that apart from the procurement centres, the sale of produce by the farmers in the market should also be continuously monitored, so that the farmers do not face any problem. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav interacted virtually with the collectors of Guna, Raisen, Datia, Sidhi, Vidisha and obtained information regarding the arrangements in the districts.
It was told in the meeting that 3 thousand 516 procurement centers are operating in the state. Slot booking has been done by a total of 8 lakh 55 thousand farmers, out of which 16 lakh 60 thousand metric tons of wheat has been procured from 3 lakh 96 thousand farmers and an amount of Rs 2 thousand 527 crore has been paid. Slots amounting to 5 lakh 88 thousand metric tonnes have been booked by 40 thousand 457 farmers of medium and large category. Farmers have been given the facility to sell their produce at any procurement center in the district instead of the tehsil.
The Government of India has relaxed the limit of shineless wheat by 50 percent. Similarly, due to less water, the limit of underdeveloped grains has been increased from 6 percent to 10 percent and the limit of damaged grains has been increased to 6 percent. Agriculture Minister Adal Singh Kanshana, Cooperative Minister Vishwas Sarang, Chief Secretary Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Neeraj Mandloi, Agricultural Production Commissioner Ashok Barnawal and principal secretaries and other officers of the concerned departments were present in the meeting.
