He felt that my personality was quite refined for this role. That's why I could not be a part of the film Lagaan, but this was the time when I had joined Sunny Deol's Gadar film.
Ameesha further told that the role of Jwala in the film Mangal Pandey was first offered to Aishwarya Rai. But suddenly she was out of the film. It was revealed in many reports that Aishwarya had demanded more money after signing the agreement for the film. There was a disagreement between the film producers and the agent and due to this Mangal Pandey was shown the way out of the film.
