At least eight Premier League clubs have confirmed their places in European competitions for the upcoming 2026/27 season, with qualification finalised on the concluding day of the 2025/26 campaign.
Below is a complete list of the Premier League sides that will feature in European tournaments next season.
Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Aston Villa, Liverpool
There will be five Premier League representatives in the UEFA Champions League during the 2026/27 season. Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Aston Villa all earned automatic qualification through top-four league finishes, while Liverpool claimed their spot courtesy of UEFA’s European Performance Spots system.
England and Spain both secured the additional 2026/27 league phase berths based on their coefficient rankings, enabling Liverpool to qualify after finishing fifth in the Premier League table.
Aston Villa also guaranteed Champions League football by winning the Europa League. However, that triumph does not transfer another place down to the next Premier League side. Instead, the club with the highest coefficient among those entering the Champions League qualifiers will advance directly to the league phase, a scenario expected to favour Sporting CP from Portugal.
Bournemouth, Sunderland
Bournemouth and Sunderland have sealed their spots in the Europa League after exceptional seasons.
For Bournemouth, this marks their first-ever appearance in European competition. Sunderland, meanwhile, climbed into the top seven following a decisive victory over Chelsea on the final day. The Black Cats are set for their first European adventure in 52 years, marking a remarkable return to continental football after their sole previous participation.
Crystal Palace still have a chance to join them if they defeat Rayo Vallecano in the Europa Conference League final.
Brighton
Brighton secured a European berth despite suffering a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Manchester United at the Amex Stadium. Their qualification was confirmed thanks to Chelsea’s loss against Sunderland, which ensured the Seagulls retained a continental spot.
However, Brighton will compete in the Europa Conference League rather than the Europa League, having dropped one tier following the final round of results.
