The Indian Navy has launched the application process for the Agniveer (Apprentice) recruitment for the year 2026. This presents a fantastic opportunity for young candidates with diplomas in engineering and electrical disciplines. The recruitment will focus on selecting unmarried male applicants for the batches 01/2027 and 02/2027. Applications commenced on June 5, 2026, and will remain open until June 29, 2026. Who is Eligible?

Candidates must have completed Class 10 from a recognized board with at least 50% marks. Additionally, they should possess a three-year diploma in the relevant field from an AICTE-approved institution, also with a minimum of 50% marks.

What is the Age Limit?

For batch 01/2027, applicants must have a date of birth between December 1, 2004, and May 31, 2009. For batch 02/2027, the acceptable date range is from May 1, 2005, to October 31, 2009.

How Will Candidates Be Selected?

The initial phase of the recruitment will involve the Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET), which is set for August 2026. This computer-based examination will feature 100 multiple-choice questions. Candidates who pass this stage will then undergo a physical fitness test, a written exam, and a medical evaluation.

Physical Test Requirements

Candidates must complete a 1.6-kilometer run in under 6 minutes and 30 seconds. Additionally, they are required to perform 20 squats, 15 push-ups, and 15 sit-ups. Successful Agniveers will earn a monthly salary of ₹30,000 during their first year, along with a risk allowance, dress allowance, travel allowance, and an insurance cover of ₹48 lakh.
