The Rouse Avenue Court has requested a response from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) regarding an interim bail plea filed by Yash Yadav, who is accused in the NEET-UG paper leak case. Yadav is seeking a 15-day interim bail to participate in the upcoming NEET UG re-examination scheduled for June 21 and to attend his sister's wedding. Special Judge Ajay Gupta has granted the CBI time to respond to Yadav's application, with the next hearing set for June 12.
During the proceedings, the court had previously accepted Yadav's request on June 2 to keep books for preparing for the NEET UG examination. The court reiterated that the examination is slated for June 21. Yadav's lawyers, Kapil Yadav and Ambika, represented him during the hearing. It was also noted that Yash Yadav had appeared for the NEET UG exam held on May 3, and his lawyer requested access to study materials, emphasizing the need for books to prepare for the re-examination.
During the hearing, the court inquired whether the lawyers had confirmed that the National Testing Agency (NTA) would allow Yadav to sit for the exam, given his status as an accused, and whether an admit card had been issued to him. It was revealed that an FIR was filed on May 12 based on a complaint from a government official, citing sections of the BNS, the Prevention of Corruption Act, and the use of unfair means in the examination. Allegations suggest that Mangilal Bival contacted Shubham Khairnar to obtain the question paper for his son, Vikas Bival, leading to the formation of a larger group with other accused individuals.
Additionally, it is alleged that Shubham initially leaked the question paper to Yash, who then passed it to Mangilal, who subsequently provided it to Vikas and then to Dinesh Bival. Reports indicate that Mangilal Bival obtained the leaked NEET UG question paper from Yash Yadav for a sum of 10 lakh rupees. During questioning, Vikas Bival reportedly stated that he had come into contact with Yash Yadav during coaching sessions in Sikar. Furthermore, it is alleged that Mangilal Bival distributed the leaked question paper to various candidates for approximately 12 lakh rupees.
