New Delhi: Is Indian cricket’s ‘Mr. 360 Degree’ i.e. Suryakumar Yadav going to leave Mumbai Indians (MI)? This discussion has spread rapidly after Surya’s surprising activity on social media. Actually, Surya has unfollowed his IPL franchise Mumbai Indians on Instagram, which has created a stir among the fans.
The matter came into limelight on the morning of June 8 when fans noticed that almost all the posts to Mumbai Indians were missing from Surya’s Instagram profile.
When fans checked his following list, they found that Surya is now neither following Mumbai Indians nor team captain Hardik Pandya. There is only one old picture left on his entire account to Mumbai Indians, in which he is seen with former captain Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni. After this move, there are speculations that Surya and Mumbai Indians are going to part ways.

Suryakumar Yadav left Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the year 2018 and joined Mumbai Indians for the second time. After this he played an important role in making the team IPL champion in 2019 and 2020.
He has batted brilliantly and scored 4,020 runs for Mumbai Indians. He is second in the list of batsmen who have scored the most runs for MI. He has 2 centuries and 30 half-centuries in his name for the team.
However, the recent season (IPL 2026) was like a nightmare for Surya. Mumbai Indians had retained him for a huge amount of Rs 16.35 crore before the start of the season, but he could not live up to the expectations. Surya scored only 270 runs in 13 matches this season at an average of 20.76, in which his highest score was 60 runs. Only 2 half-centuries came from his bat in the entire season.
The last few times have been full of ups and downs for Surya. Suryakumar Yadav, who led India to the T20 World Cup title under his captaincy in March 2026, later suffered a major setback. Not only did he lose the captaincy of the Indian T20 team, but he was also completely dropped from the series that followed. Now this bitterness with the IPL team has raised new questions about their future.
