Congress leader Ashok Gehlot has made a scathing attack on BJP. Ashok Gehlot claimed that if former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was alive today, she would have banned a party like BJP. He said that if we want to save the country, to save the democracy of the country, then the dangerous environment that exists within the country today, I have never seen such an environment in my 50 years of political career. Gehlot said that all you senior people sitting here will also agree with this. He said that I am saying with full responsibility that today is a very dangerous environment. If the country does not take control even now, then the countrymen themselves will bear the consequences later. He warned that there will be no future left for our young generation and the situation will become very serious.
He called the unity of the opposition necessary. Gehlot said that there is a need to strengthen the INDIA alliance… I had also said that the INDIA alliance should openly hand over the leadership to Rahul Gandhi… That is why today the responsibility of the young generation is the highest, because history will not forgive them too. Tomorrow they will be asked that when all this was happening in the country, what were they doing as youth?

Gehlot said that Congress is the party of the era of Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Nehru, Sardar Patel, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and Babasaheb Ambedkar. The country is running today because of the Constitution made by him. Indira Gandhi ji gave martyrdom, but did not allow Khalistan to be formed. Rajiv Gandhiji was martyred because he wanted to establish peace in the entire subcontinent including Sri Lanka. He gave his life, but kept the country united. But what is the thinking of the people in power today? The country is becoming weak due to their thinking. These people are deliberately doing religious polarization.
Gehlot said that there are 403 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh, but you do not give even a single seat to a Muslim candidate, and call yourself a national political party! Hey, you could have given five seats just to show the countrymen. But, you want to show that 'we are a purely Hindutva party.' That poor Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi used to advocate BJP so brilliantly for so long; Shahnawaz Hussain was a minister, but today you made everyone sit at home.
On the remarks of Congress leader Ashok Gehlot, Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa said, "Ashok Gehlot's views may be anything but the spirit in which he is talking, banning any party is neither in the original Constitution nor in democracy. Indira Gandhi had imposed emergency at that time in which the people of the country were burnt by that fire. He said that Ashok Gehlot makes such statements for the sake of appeasement politics which is against our democracy."

On the question of Ashok Gehlot banning BJP, Supriya Shrinet said that Sardar Patel had banned RSS, he would have banned today's BJP also.
