Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the result of the prelims exam of Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2026. With this, the wait of lakhs of candidates who appeared in the examination is now over. Commission has released the list of successful candidates on its official website. upsc.gov.in But has been released. This time a total of 13,343 candidates have achieved success in the Civil Services Main Examination. Candidates can check their result by visiting the official website of UPSC.

Other than this UPSC has also released the result of Indian Forest Service (IFS) Prelims 2026. This year a total of 1,046 candidates have been shortlisted for the IFS Mains exam. Recruitment will be done on 80 posts under the Indian Forest Service Examination 2026.

This examination was held on May 24, 2026 across the country. 8,19,372 students had registered for the examination for about 933 posts.General Studies (GS-I) paper was held in the first shift and CSAT paper was held in the second shift. Both the question papers were of 200-200 marks and the entire examination was of total 400 marks.

The answer key was released for the first time on May 28, just four days after the exam. Till now, UPSC has released the answer keys after the declaration of the final result, i.e. almost a year after the CSE Prelims. One question out of 100 was removed from the provisional key.

13,343 candidates cleared Mains

A statement issued by UPSC said, this year, out of 1,016 vacancies notified for Civil Services Examination, 2026, a total of 13,343 candidates have been shortlisted for Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2026.

Last year, a total of 14,161 candidates were shortlisted out of 1,087 notified vacancies for the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2025.

Last year, the Prelims result was declared on June 11, and the exam was held on May 25, 2026. In 2024, the exam was held on June 16, and the result was declared on July 1.
