Janashakti Janata Dal (JJD) president and RJD chief Lalu Yadav's elder son Tej Pratap Yadav has said that his life is in danger. He claimed that a conspiracy could be hatched to assassinate him and there could be connivance of opposition leaders in it. On Friday night (June 19, 2026), he reached the police station and lodged a complaint in this matter. He demanded to increase security and said that an application has also been filed in the court in this matter.
Tej Pratap has filed a complaint at the Secretariat police station against Anushka Yadav's brother and former RJD student wing president Akash Yadav and seven other people. In which he has been accused of conspiring to murder. The news of Tej Pratap's affair with Anushka Yadav had come to light.
Talking to journalists in the capital Patna, Tej Pratap Yadav claimed that four people had forcibly entered his house. He told that an attempt was made to catch them, but the intruders managed to escape before being caught.
He said, 'It is possible that he (Akash Yadav) wants to get me killed in collaboration with the opposition. Four people had forcibly entered my house. By the time we tried to catch them, they had already run away. I demand security, and we have also filed an application in the court regarding security. If we have to meet the Chief Minister, we will meet.
He claimed that his father and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav are ill and a conspiracy is going on to kill both of them. Tej Pratap directly accused Akash Yadav of conspiracy to murder and said, 'From the very beginning, attempts have been made to tarnish my image. My father Lalu Prasad Yadav is unwell, and this is a conspiracy to kill my father and me. Akash Yadav wants to get me killed' The JJD leader reiterated the demand for security arrangements and indicated that if needed, he will also meet the Chief Minister. The authorities have not yet given any official response to the allegations. Tej Pratap Yadav had reached the police station with his lawyer. On this occasion, his PA Motilal Yadav was also with him.
Earlier, a case was also registered against Tej Pratap Yadav. On the application of Akash, an FIR has been registered in Patliputra police station of Patna, in which along with Tej Pratap, his PA Motilal Yadav has also been made accused. It is being told that on the application of Akash, the case was not registered in the police station earlier. After this he approached the court. Following the court order, the police have registered an FIR against Tej Pratap.
The complaint alleges that he forcibly entered a house in Patna and tried to meet a girl, calling her his daughter and threatened the family if she protested. The complainant alleges that Tej Pratap and one of his associates tried to enter his house and insisted on meeting the girl. This case comes more than a year after the social media controversy in which the names of Tej Pratap and a woman related to the complainant's family were revealed. However, Tej Pratap has called these allegations false and fabricated.
According to the complaint, when the family refused to meet, Tej Pratap threatened to kidnap the girl. The complainant also alleged that the former minister cited his political influence and said that no FIR could be filed against him and prevented the family from going to the police.
The complainant said that later he received a call in which the caller claimed to be associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Patna ASP Law and Order Divanjali Jaiswal, while confirming the registration of FIR, said that the complainant told that the threatening call had come from an American number. Police are examining CCTV footage, call details and voice notes and are also investigating the connection with Bishnoi gang.
