How are local products getting global recognition, which policy of Mohan government is amazing?

Amidst the focus on Mission GYAN i.e. poor-youth-food givers-women power, if Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emphasized on any word, it is self-reliant India. Prime Minister Modi believes that if our country becomes self-reliant, then no one can stop us from standing at the forefront. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav is following the same line of Prime Minister Modi. CM Yadav has not only improved the economic condition of the state, but is also continuously working to strengthen it further. He has made innovations like Global Industry Conclave and Regional Industry Conclave to give economic direction to the state.

In the Self-reliant India Mission of the Modi government, the micro, small and medium enterprise sector has been considered a major engine of economic development. In the last 12 years, in this direction, MSME sector, One District One Product Scheme and GI tag have given a new identity to local products at the global level. Namo government's vision and Mohan Sarkar With the mission of Madhya Pradesh, today it is being counted among the fastest becoming self-reliant states of the country on the basis of its micro, small and medium enterprises, one district-one product and GI tags.

ODOP products get a bigger platform

One District One Product is a part of the visionary thinking of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which promotes the unique potential of every district of any state. Mohan government has also announced to build Unity Mall for ODOP products in Ujjain at a cost of Rs 284 crore. These days, moving forward on PM Modi's mission of self-reliant India and developed India, the unique identity of all the districts of Madhya Pradesh is being promoted through ODOP.

Due to this, a main product of every district is shining in the national and international market. Be it the zari-zardozi and jute products of Bhopal or the Bagh prints of Dhar, the banana of Burhanpur or the ginger of Barwani, the Chinnaur rice of Balaghat or the garlic of Mandsaur, today through ODOP, it has succeeded in creating its special identity in the entire country and the world through GI tag. The government is working vigorously towards production, training, branding, packaging and making available the market of these products under ODOP.

The sales of these products are increasing through Mrignayani Emporium and online platforms and the result is that Madhya Pradesh has won the silver medal in ODOP at the national level. MP Government is also doing special cooperation with Uttar Pradesh Government to give national identity to local products and to accelerate inter-state cooperation by empowering One District-One Product.

GI Tag: Local products get global recognition

GI tag increases the market price of products, protects against counterfeit products and opens up export possibilities. It provides economic self-reliance while preserving the knowledge and traditions of local artisans. In recent years, after getting GI tag for traditional arts, handloom and agricultural products of Madhya Pradesh, both their authenticity and demand have increased rapidly in the market. Due to this, counterfeit products have been banned and farmers and artisans are getting fair price for their hard work.

Steps towards self-reliance from MSME

Today, more than 24 lakh MSME units are active in MP, which are providing employment to more than 1.25 crore people. Under the State Government's Better MSME Promotion Scheme and MSME Development Policy 2025, concrete work is being done towards providing financial assistance, skill development along with technical upgradation and increasing common facility centres. Women, youth and tribal communities in rural areas are being involved in promoting local products, due to which traditional crafts and agricultural products are also getting a new identity.

Due to the efforts of Mohan government, MSME sector in Madhya Pradesh has today become a major backbone of the state's economy. The impact of Madhya Pradesh Government's MSME Development Policy, Madhya Pradesh Start-up Policy and Implementation Plan is beginning to be seen on the ground. Huge investment has come at the local level through new industrial policies and financial assistance, excellent investment policies. An amount of more than Rs 375 crore has been transferred by the government to more than 600 MSME units as on 31 March 2026.

The vision of developed India is gaining momentum

Today, modern clusters are being developed in MP in sectors like readymade garments, furniture and food processing, which will provide huge employment to the local youth. Youth will become job creators from job seekers. The confluence of MSME, ODOP and GI tag is changing the face of both rural and urban areas of today's Madhya Pradesh. Through initiatives like 'Mukhyamantri Udyam Kranti Yojana', the Mohan government is providing loans to the youth for self-employment on easy terms.

Due to the efforts of the government, tremendous branding of ODOP products is taking place. These products are also being linked to e-commerce and export hubs, which is giving impetus to PM Modi's vision of self-reliant India and developed India. Mohan government is moving forward strongly in the direction of becoming global for local by moving beyond vocal for local.
