After almost eradication of Naxalism from the country, now Union Home Minister Amit Shah's focus is on stopping infiltration. To strengthen the internal security front, a similar deadline can soon be set for ending infiltration as was done for ending Naxalism. Shah had set the deadline of March 31, 2026 to eliminate Naxalism from the country. After this deadline passed, he told the Parliament that Naxalism has almost been eliminated from the country. This was also confirmed by security agencies.
According to the information, a campaign is going on to completely eliminate illegal infiltration in the country and to identify the infiltrators and send them back. The government believes that if a deadline is set for this, then all the states and all the agencies will work together in coordination and in mission mode to end it within that time limit.
Recently, Home Minister Amit Shah visited Gujarat, Rajasthan and Tripura to take stock of infiltration and people living illegally in the country. Amit Shah will also go to West Bengal and review. Currently, this work is being completed with better coordination with different state governments as well as security agencies. Under this, a three-phase strategy of Deduct, Detain and Deport has been adopted, which is also being continuously monitored on the ground. To end infiltration, the central government is working on the policy of zero infiltration. The Home Minister has given instructions to the Border Security Force to end infiltration on the lines of Naxalism.
Besides, instructions have also been given regarding identification and demolition of illegal construction taking place on the country's border. All illegal constructions and encroachments within a radius of 15 kilometers of the International Border have been identified and orders have been given to demolish them. A high-level demography mission designed to identify and investigate the demographic changes taking place in the border areas has started work.
To make the border with Pakistan and Bangladesh free from infiltration, state-of-the-art technology such as dark-seeing thermal cameras, sensors, radar and drones are being used. Fencing work on Bangladesh border is also going on in mission mode. Amit Shah has already said that illegal infiltrators will be thrown out of the country at any cost. In this, the government will also be helped by the data of the ongoing digital census in the country, which will help in identifying the people living illegally in the country.
