Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has given a big statement on the issue of women's safety and alleged conversion pressure related to TCS in Maharashtra Legislative Council. He has described this incident as a serious warning for the society and system. The Chief Minister said that the existing laws related to women's safety should be re-evaluated so that they can be made more effective in accordance with the changing circumstances.

The Chief Minister informed the House that in this case related to TCS, allegations have come to light of allegedly pressurizing a female employee for religious conversion. So far, 9 FIRs have been registered in this matter and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to investigate the matter. He clarified that the investigating agencies are getting full cooperation from the company. The investigation so far has not revealed any direct involvement of the company.

Allegations and complaints are being investigated seriously

Chief Minister Fadnavis said that complaints regarding some organized groups and individuals conducting such activities through corporate institutions have been coming up from time to time. The government is seriously investigating all such allegations and complaints. Such people will not be spared under any circumstances. Strictest action will be taken against them. For this, special instructions have been given to the officials.

Proposal to form joint committee on women's safety

With the aim of further strengthening the security of women, the Chief Minister urged the Speaker of the Assembly to constitute a joint committee of all the women representatives of the Assembly and the Legislative Council. He suggested that this committee should make a detailed study of the current laws related to women's safety and submit its recommendations regarding necessary amendments and reforms.

Concern also expressed over increasing cyber incidents

During this, Chief Minister Fadnavis also expressed concern over the increasing incidents of cyber crime in the state. He said that between 2025 and May 2026, 10,505 cases of cyber fraud were registered, in which 2,379 people were arrested. At the same time, 1,142 cases were registered under the NDPS Act between January and April 2026, in which 1,626 accused were arrested and drugs worth ₹ 254.53 crore were seized.
