Airtel has overtaken Jio in this matter, know here how is the condition of Vi?

There has always been a tough competition between telecom companies, every company makes every effort to connect as many customers as possible to the network. To woo customers, companies come up with new plans, refresh old plans with new benefits and sometimes give free bonus data. Every month, data comes from TRAI i.e. Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, which makes it clear as to which company people have shown the most trust in. Now TRAI has released data for May 2026 which shows that Airtel, Jio and Vi have registered an increase in the number of wireless subscribers while government operators BSNL and MTNL have lost subscribers.

How is Vi's condition?

Vodafone Idea added 121,289 wireless subscribers in May, taking its total base to 198.66 million from 198.54 million in April. In this way, the company continued its growth trend after losing customers for a long time.

Benefit to Airtel-Jio, loss to BSNL

Bharti Airtel has been the biggest gainer, with the company adding 2.93 million wireless subscribers, while Reliance Jio added 2.15 million subscribers. Whereas, if we talk about government company BSNL, then the company has lost 104,660 subscribers. Overall, India's wireless subscriber base has increased from 5.09 million to 1.277 billion by the end of May.

Who has how many total subscribers?

Jio leads with 501.44 million wireless subscribers (Jio Subscribers in India). At the second position is Airtel which has 483.81 million subscribers (Airtel Subscribers in India), Vi has 198.66 million subscribers (Vi Subscribers in India) and at the fourth position is BSNL, this government telecom company has 92.91 million subscribers.
