The alleged theft of offerings in the Ram temple in Ayodhya has shocked the faith of crores of devotees. Now the question is not just about theft, but about the entire system and fixing accountability. But the question is whether VHP, Trust and Sant Samaj will accept the efforts for change in the name of transparency? Or it will be considered an attempt to bring the temples under government control and there will be opposition to it.
In fact, crores of Ram devotees make offerings at the feet of Ramlala with their devotion and faith. But the alleged theft of the same offering has deeply shocked the devotees. This is not only being considered as theft of money but also a betrayal of the trust of crores of people. According to sources, after this incident the discussion on major changes in the administrative structure of Ram temple has intensified. There is discussion on CEO system and administrative changes on the lines of Tirupati Balaji.
Police action and arrests have been made in this entire matter, but now questions are being raised on the entire system. According to sources, after this, discussions have started on changes in the administrative and financial structure of the temple. However, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) President Alok Kumar says that there should be no attempt to take advantage of this alleged incident to take Ram Temple or other temples under government control. The organization has a clear opinion that temples should remain autonomous, government control is not acceptable. Although the VHP chief has said that there is no need to change the entire team, but people who have experience in running the temple and have experience in administration should be brought.
According to sources, serious consideration is being given to implementing CEO system in Ram temple on the lines of Tirupati Balaji model. There is discussion that administrative responsibility can be handed over to an experienced officer. Although no official decision has been taken on this yet, this work can be given to a senior retired IAS officer.
Many saints are not in favor of this proposal. He believes that in the traditional system of the temple, the appointment of any government or administrative CEO would not be appropriate. In such a situation, how will the balance be struck between transparency and autonomy of the temple, this has become the biggest question. Jitendranand Saraswati, General Secretary of All India Sant Samiti, has also started protesting against the imposition of government system.
The emphasis of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Sant Samaj is on transparent and well-organized operations. His priorities include the security of the temple, accurate management of offerings and convenience of the devotees. According to sources, brainstorming on the new administrative system is going on. Now all eyes will be on the proposed meeting of the Trust on July 7 to see whether a final decision is taken on the CEO model? And are the Trust, VHP and Sant Samaj able to reach a common consensus or not?
