Punjab Government's 'Maa-Beti Samman Yojana' started from today. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann launched this scheme from Dhuri in Sangrur. Cabinet ministers Aman Arora, Baljeet Kaur, Punjab Aam Aadmi Party in-charge Manish Sisodia and other leaders were present along with Chief Minister Hon. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that this scheme is a tribute to our mothers and daughters, that is why it has been named 'Maa-Beti Samman Yojana'.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann Said that this scheme was started at a time when we were confident that this scheme would never be stopped. Money can come from anywhere, it will definitely come for this scheme. This scheme will never stop. He told that till now more than 40 lakh women have been registered for this scheme.
Chief Minister Mann said that from today, an honorarium of Rs 1000 per month will be given in the accounts of general category women and Rs 1500 per month in the accounts of Scheduled Caste women. He said that the accumulated amount of three months will come into the accounts in the first installment. Chief Minister Mann said that many opposition parties are saying what will happen with Rs 1000 and 1500, but this amount may be nothing to them, but I have seen poverty.
He said that when Arvind Kejriwal formed the Aam Aadmi Party, he did it with the thought that the money of the common public would reach the common people in some form or the other, be it through clinics, hospitals, roads, free electricity, employment or any other means. The Chief Minister said that if mothers are happy, daughters are happy and sisters are happy, then the entire universe is happy.
