Congress alleged that public assets are getting spoiled due to corruption in infrastructure projects under the Modi government. Citing the condition of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, the party claimed in a post on social media X that the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 14, 2026, had huge potholes within two months of its inauguration. Congress said, "Narendra Modi had inaugurated the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway on April 14, 2026. But after just two months, huge potholes started appearing on this expressway, built at a cost of Rs 12,000 crore. This shows that there has been large-scale corruption and embezzlement of funds in the construction of this expressway."
The party alleged that this was not an isolated incident and claimed that infrastructure projects were deteriorating across the country. The party said that this is not the first such case. “Be it bridges or roads, highways or water tanks, railway stations or airport roofs, infrastructure is deteriorating everywhere across the country.” Taking aim at the Centre, Congress alleged, “Overall, the matter is clear. Modi government is dangerous for the country and the people.”

Congress said that earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor on April 14, which was an important milestone in the development of Uttarakhand and the wider region. The 213 km long 6-lane access-controlled Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor has been built at a cost of more than Rs 12,000 crore. This corridor passes through the states of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. It has been designed with many such features, the purpose of which is to reduce the conflict between humans and animals to a great extent.
Talking about the major changes and benefits that the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor will bring, the Prime Minister had talked about the various benefits of the project on this area. He said that this expressway will significantly reduce the travel time and expense of passengers, which will result in considerable saving of fuel and will also reduce the cost of freight transportation. PM Modi said, “This is not just a road, it opens new avenues for trade, industry, warehousing and logistics in the entire region.”
