Karnataka News: In Bellary and Vijayanagar districts of Karnataka, people are forced to leave their homes and go to other places in search of livelihood. The reason for this is lack of monsoon rains and lack of employment at the local level. More than 13,000 people from hundreds of villages in Bellary and Vijayanagar districts have left for Bengaluru, Goa and Maharashtra. Agricultural work is not possible without rain. Sowing has also not started yet. Meanwhile, there are rumors that this decision is justified as there is not enough work available even under employment guarantee schemes at the local level.
People of Bellary and Vijayanagar districts are worried due to stoppage of monsoon rains. People believe that the stoppage of monsoon rains is a sign of drought. This is the reason why people here are forced to leave their homes along with their families. Many people have left their homes and gone to other places. Thousands of people from hundreds of villages and settlements of the district are leaving their homes in large numbers, which is a sign of severe drought in the district. Except for the elderly and small children present at home, everyone else is moving to other cities in search of food.
According to local people, more than 3,000 people from 20 Tanda settlements of Bellary district and more than 10,000 people from 120 Tanda settlements of Vijayanagar district have left their homes. It is being told that they have gone to different states like Bengaluru, Goa and Maharashtra in search of employment. However, the district administration and officials have not yet shared any official information in this regard.
People said that agricultural work is not possible without rain. Sowing has also not started yet. On the other hand, even under employment guarantee schemes (now VB Ji Ram Ji Yojana), adequate work is not available. The district administration has completely failed to provide employment, and the public representatives, who were entrusted with the responsibility of providing employment at the local level by putting pressure on the officials, have also become silent. Therefore, the public says that if they continue to stay here, they will have to go on a hunger strike in the future, due to which it does not seem right for the people to leave the city.
