Musafir Cafe Review: “We have met before… maybe… maybe where? Maybe in some book…” When a film is made on deep stories, it often makes you realize how empty this world can be without books. The specialty of book stories is that the characters written on the pages settle in your mind and then as soon as you see them on the screen, those characters get a face. Years ago, famous author Divya Prakash Dubey's story 'Musafir Cafe' was published. This book is still known as one of the most beautiful and simple novels of new Hindi literature. Years ago there was another story in which Chandar and Sudha were created. The name of that novel was Gunahon Ka Devta… one of the biggest and best novels of Hindi literature. Chandar and Sudha are also there in Musafir Cafe… but this Chandar and Sudha are quite different from that Chandar and Sudha. Looking at Chander and Sudha of Netflix's series 'Musafir Cafe', it seems that if Chander and Sudha had actually met in a cafe in Bhopal, they would have looked something like this.

For those who have not read the book, let us give an idea of the story. So this is the story of Chandar and Sudha. Chandar is a software engineer and Sudha is a divorce lawyer. Both have their own dreams. Both of them meet in a cafe in Bhopal, where Chander and Sudha have come to meet each other. Both their families have prepared this setup for an arranged marriage, but the catch is that neither of them want to get married. Especially Sudha… but Chander's filter coffee attracts Sudha and Sudha's tea attracts Chander towards each other. After this both of them meet and one night Sudha calls Chander and then both of them start living together… There are two more characters in the story, the first is Preeti, whose character is played by Mahima Makwana and the second character is Musafir Cafe. Yes, this is not just a cafe, but it is probably the biggest character in this story.

Vikrant and Vedika's chemistry on screen is excellent. The most special thing about Vikrant's screen presence is that his acting has the same consistency that is demanded by this character. Vedika and the clothes she wears give a beautiful and sensitive face to the character of Sudha.
Chandar wants to stay, but Sudha is a traveler and travelers never stay. After meeting and separating from Sudha… Chandar is now a traveler, held back by Preeti's stasis. All three are connected to each other. Truth is visible in Vedika's character but at some places Mahima as Preeti seems to outweigh her. Books and cafes have a big role in this story. Understand that they are like souls. The mountains and Mussoorie have an equally big role. It feels good when directors present such stories exactly the way you have imagined while reading the book. Mussoorie is called the queen of hills and why it is so becomes clearly visible by watching this series.
Musafir Cafe
These series are like those books, which cannot be read every day. It makes its place in your shelf and then someday while searching for something somewhere, suddenly your eyes fall on it and after holding it in your hand for a moment, the same beautiful smile appears on your face. This series is a comfort zone which takes you to another world for a while. Where there are strong actors like Vikrant Massey and Vedika Pinto, it is useless to think whether the series should be watched or not. Someday you can enjoy this show while savoring filter coffee or tea. The only complaint is that if this series had been more of a film, it would have been more fun. The series is a bit slow, so watch it in a relaxed mood.
