Dwyane Bravo, a former all-rounder for the West Indies, has partnered as a mentor with the Kolkata Knight Riders, the IPL 2024 winners. On Friday, September 27, the news was released via an official press release. He will also be a member of the group’s other franchises internationally, which include CPL, MLC, and ILT20, according to the franchise, which has verified the development.

The 40-year-old Bravo, who coached the bowling of the Chennai Super Kings in the 2024 Indian Premier League, will take over as KKR’s consultant from India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir. Gambhir joined the team as a consultant last year and guided them to a championship triumph in his debut season. Gambhir captained KKR to IPL victories in 2012 and 2014. The former left-handed hitter departed the position after a fruitful tenure to become the head coach of the Indian men’s cricket team.

The news that DJ Bravo is joining us is wonderful. His broad expertise, extensive experience, and unwavering will to succeed will be very beneficial to our athletes and team. Bravo’s involvement with our other worldwide franchises, like as CPL, MLC, and ILT20, is something else we’re happy about, stated Venky Mysore, CEO of Knight Riders Group, in a press statement.

“I’ve played in the CPL for the past ten years with the Trinbago Knight Riders. I have a great deal of respect for the Knight Riders’ methods since I have played for and against them in a number of leagues. It’s a unique venue because of the owners’ enthusiasm, the management’s expertise, and the welcoming atmosphere. Bravo said upon his hiring, “This is the ideal platform for me as I go from playing to mentoring and coaching the next generation of players.”

In addition to playing for MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings, Dwayne Bravo was a member of the Mumbai Indians from 2008 to 2010 and the Gujarat Lions during the 2016 Indian Premier League.

Dwayne Bravo, who has played for more than a dozen clubs, owns the record for the most T20 cricket dismissals with 631 wickets in 582 appearances. Under Daren Sammy’s direction, he was a vital member of the West Indies men’s cricket squad that won the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2012 and 2016.
