Sanju Baba as he is fondly called was born to renowned Hindi cinema actors Sunil Dutt and Nargis Dutt. Coming from a famous film background Sanjay showed a keen interest in acting. However fame led him to wander down risky paths. Sanjay Dutts Drug Addiction At an early age Sanjay got involved in drugs and suffered from severe addiction after his mother’s demise. After Nargis death Sanjays father Sunil Dutt stood strong by his side. In 1982 Sunil sent Sanjay to a rehabilitation centre in the US. In an interview Sanjay said “My journey with substance abuse lasted about 12 years. There are no drugs in the world that I haven’t tried. When my father took me to America [for rehab] they gave me a list [of drugs] and I ticked every drug on it because I had taken all of them. The doctor told my dad What kind of food do you eat in India? Going by the drugs he’s done he should be dead by now.’” Sanjay Dutts Affairs Sanjay Dutt was once labelled a Casanova for his numerous affairs. According to reports Sanjay dated 308 women. Rumours were widespread in the late 80s and early 90s about an alleged affair between Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit during which time Dutt was still married to his first wife Richa Sharma. The reported relationship is said to have ended after Sanjay Dutt’s arrest in connection with the 1993 Mumbai blasts. Sanjay is Now Married to... Sanjay was first married to Richa Sharma. However after her death due to a brain tumour Sanjay married Rhea Pillai in 1998. Later in 2005 the duo parted ways. Sanjay married his current wife Maanayata Dutt in 2008 and the couple has two children.
