The issue of outstanding money between Vashu Bhagnani, producer of Akshay Kumar's film 'Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan' and Netflix has been in the news for some time. Vashu accused Netflix of owing him Rs 47.37 crore. Since then, the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) is busy investigating this matter. Now the statement of EOW officer has come out on this matter.

EW officer Ravindra Awahad, who is investigating the case, said in a statement, “Netflix owes Rs 47 crore to Vashu Bhagnani. We are sending letters, but Netflix is not cooperating. Even after issuing summons no one appeared. Bhagnani came to us in April. “He gave us his statement and handed over the documents.”

He also said, “Netflix had asked for time, but it never came. Always keep sending only junior level staff. But it was Monica Shergill who had to appear.” Monica is the content head of Netflix India.

Allegations of outstanding dues for these films

In fact, some time ago, in an interview given to Economic Times, Vashu Bhagnani had alleged that Netflix owed money for the rights of his three films. Those films are 'Mission Raniganj', 'Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan' and the third film is 'Hero No. 1', which is currently in the production stage.

Netflix statement

Later, Netflix also responded on this matter. These allegations were called baseless by Netflix and Netflix had accused Vashu's own company Pooja Entertainment of owing its money.
The statement from Netflix also said, “We have a strong track record of partnering with the Indian creative community and we are working to resolve this dispute.”
