SC and ST Commission has been formed in UP. Former MLA Baijnath Rawat has been made the chairman of the commission while two vice-chairmen and 16 members have been made. Commissions and corporations are being formed after BJP's poor performance in the Lok Sabha elections. Backward Classes Commission and Women's Commission were also formed. Baijnath Rawat, resident of Barabanki district of UP, has been MP, MLA and Minister of State. Baijnath Rawat comes from a Dalit family.

There is no doubt that this step has been taken by the government in view of the by-elections so that this election can erase the memory of the bitter experience of the Lok Sabha results. Although this decision of the government remained in controversy for some days regarding the age limit, but ultimately Baijnath Rawat was appointed as the president.

Expressed gratitude to PM and CM on getting the responsibility

Baijnath Rawat also expressed happiness over the decision of the UP government and his appointment as the chairman of the commission. He has also expressed gratitude to PM Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath for this. Rawat said that whatever responsibility has been assigned to him, he will discharge it with full responsibility and will work towards justice.

Rawat has been a one-time MP and Minister of State in the UP government as well as a three-time MLA. Rawat is counted among very simple natured and honest people. Even after doing politics for a long time, he always stayed away from factional politics. Due to his clean image, he also has a distinct identity in the politics of UP.

away from active politics

Baijnath is currently away from active politics and lives in his village and does farming. It is believed that the Yogi government has given him important responsibility and has also freed him from the pain of his opponents who used to remind him of being neglected in the party. While being in active politics, Baijnath got a lot of promotion but his feet always remained on the ground.

Changed sides once, but then returned home

According to Baijnath Rawat, he became MLA thrice but all three times his tenure was short, due to which he did not get a chance to do full work. In 1998, he reached Parliament by winning from Barabanki seat, was MLA thrice and was also the Minister of State for Power in UP once. Baijnath Rawat, who was a lifelong BJP worker, once changed sides and joined the Samajwadi Party, but then he got bored and came back to his old family.
