Faridabad: A case has come to light in Faridabad city where a woman and her associates honey-trapped a builder and sent him to jail on false charges of rape. In this case, the woman extorted about Rs 33 lakh from the builder, despite which the builder had to remain in jail for about five months. Later, after getting bail from the High Court, the victim complained to the then Home Minister Anil Vij, on whose orders a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed. Based on the investigation of the SIT, the police have registered a case against the woman and her associates after 17 months.

Start and introduction of the event

This case is of 7 July 2023, when the victim told in his complaint that he works in building construction. Earlier he used to live in Greenfield, but now he is residing at some other place with his brother's family. The victim says that his families used to visit his neighbor Mukesh Narwat in Greenfield frequently. On December 10, Mukesh Narwat also attended his engagement ceremony as a guest. During this time, the victim had talked to Mukesh about getting a banquet hall.

Getting confused in search of a banquet hall

The victim told that on 25 December 2022, Mukesh Narwat and his friend Rinku called him to the Krain Interiors Mall. During the conversation, the three made a plan to watch a movie, but Mukesh refused to watch the movie at the last moment. Thus, the victim decided to watch the movie with Rinku. After this, suddenly in July 2023, a rape case was registered against the victim, which made him very nervous.

Arrest and legal troubles

Nine days after the rape case was registered at Mahila Thana Central, i.e. on 25 July 2023, the police took the victim into custody. The police presented him in front of a young woman, who confessed to the rape. However, the victim told the police that he did not know the young woman, but his statement was ignored. Meanwhile, Mukesh Narwat demanded Rs 50 lakh from the victim to settle the case at the police station itself.

Seeking justice and complaining to the Home Minister

The victim trusted the law and rejected Mukesh's demand, but the police arrested him and sent him to jail. After being in jail, he got bail from the Punjab and Haryana High Court on 17 November 2023. After coming out of jail, with the help of his friend Sunil, he contacted Deepika, the director of an NGO and narrated his story. Deepika took the victim to Panchkula and introduced him to the then Home Minister Anil Vij, where he gave full details of the case.
