No matter where you go in the world, you always remember the soil of your country. One such recent case has come to light from Ghazipur district, where the sixth generation of Dukhran has reached his village after 129 years. Dukhran went to South Africa by ship from Kolkata on 5 March 1895 at the age of 25. But now the sixth generation of his family has returned to India. Who, as soon as he reached his native village, applied the soil of that place on his forehead.
Dukhran, a resident of Mangari village in Saidpur tehsil area of Ghazipur district, had migrated from Kolkata to South Africa about 129 years ago, when Dukhran was about 25 years old. Dukhran had reached South Africa on a ship from Kolkata after a journey of about 24 days. Dukhran's family members have now returned to India after 129 years. Dukharan's family is a native of present-day South Africa.
Dukhran's great grandson Rakesh has come to India with his wife Uni. From Rakesh's great grandfather till now, the family members have been big traders in fruits and vegetables, but at present, Dukhran's great grandson Rakesh Roshan works as an insurance advisor in a company. Rakesh Roshan got information about his ancestors from Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's Art of Living headquarters in Bengaluru. Rakesh Roshan had gone to Bodh to pay homage to his ancestors. From where he reached his native village Mangari.
As soon as they reached the village, the villagers welcomed Rakesh and his wife Uni by garlanding them and giving them bouquets. Rakesh told that he is the sixth generation of Dukhran. His great grandfather had gone to South Africa to cultivate sugarcane and later settled there. Rakesh further told that we are descendants of the sixth generation.
