Bollywood is all about glitz and glamour. Over the decades movies of various budgets have been made. There are times when films produced with a whopping Rs 500-600 crores turn out to be complete failures whereas films made on budgets of Rs 20-40 crores perform wonders on the big screen. Hence it is not always the budget that matters but the actors and their performances. One such film that serves as a glowing example is Teja Sajjas HanuMan. The Telugu superhero film HanuMan was released in theaters on January 12 2024. It is a mythological film in which Teja Sajja plays the role of the superhero. The cast also includes notable actors like Amrita Aiyer Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Vinay Rai in significant roles. Helmed by Prashanth Varma the movie was made on a budget of Rs 40 crores. However due to its intriguing storyline the film earned a whopping Rs 350 crore worldwide. In India the movie was so much loved by the audience that it raked in Rs 32.05 crore domestically. Interestingly it took two and a half years to make the film. Recently Teja Sajja shared that he worked extremely hard for HanuMan turning down dozens of projects and performing all the stunts himself. In an interview with Hindustan Times Teja said “We wanted a desi superhero look for the film. I did 25 look tests. Typically an actor does two or three look tests. When we started shooting the film we went through a very challenging process for the action sequences.” He added “There are no head replacement shots like in big-budget films. All the stunts in the film were performed by me including underwater scenes. I even learned scuba diving for that.” Despite being a low-budget film HanuMan turned heads and provided significant profits for the makers. Apart from its box office collection the movie also boasts a 7.8 IMDb rating. After the films release it was made available on the OTT platform JioCinema. Even on OTT platforms viewers have loved the movie to the cores.
