England coach Brendon McCullum has confirmed that captain Jos Buttler will play as a full-time batsman in the T20 series against India, while Phil Salt will take over wicketkeeping. The first match of the five-match T20 series will be played between India and England in Kolkata on Wednesday. This series is McCullum's first series as England's limited overs head coach.

McCullum was made the head coach of the England team in September last year in place of Matthew Mott. McCullum explained how Butler will have more influence on the bowlers while fielding on the field rather than handling the responsibility behind the wicket. McCullum said, this is a positive thing for us because with this Butler will be able to talk to the bowler and prepare the strategy till the last second. We have many options in the team as a wicketkeeper.

McCullum said - will play cautiously against India
The England team under McCullum's leadership is known for its aggressive style, but McCullum surprised everyone by saying that his team will play cautiously against India. McCullum said, I know this tour is going to be difficult because we are facing a strong Indian team, but I am confident that our team will play cautious style cricket. This will be a great and exciting series. We knew about it two months ago and it is fantastic.

The first match of the five-match T20 series between the two teams will be played at Eden Gardens on Wednesday. After this, there will be a series of three ODIs which will be very important in view of the Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan and Dubai from February 19.

India has the upper hand
India seems to have the upper hand against England as India has won the last four T20s between the two teams. The Indian team defeated England in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup last year and then won the tournament by defeating South Africa.
