Attacks on cows are increasing continuously in the Congress-ruled state of Karnataka. After cutting the udders of cows and cutting the tail of a calf in a temple, now a cow has been beheaded.
Pregnant cow's head cut off from the body
According to the police, miscreants in Uttara Kannada district beheaded a pregnant cow, cut off her legs and mutilated the remains of her calf. The miscreants took away the cow's body and left her head, legs and dead calf there.
This incident took place in Kondakuli of Salkodu village in Honnwara taluk of Uttara Kannada district. Police have detained five people in this case. Police have registered a case against unknown miscreants under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and started investigation.
Krishna Achari had left it for grazing
According to the police, the cow belonged to Krishna Achari, who had left it for grazing on Sunday. On Monday, when Achari went in search of the cow, he found the severed head, legs of the cow and the mutilated body of the calf.
Superintendent of Police M Narayan said that we have identified 10 suspects and detained five of them for questioning. Six special teams have been formed and we have gathered clues to nab the main accused, who are currently absconding. No arrests have been made yet. The Superintendent of Police described the act as heinous and assured that efforts are being made to nab the culprits with the help of local investigation and forest department.
Home Minister ordered investigation into cow killing
Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara has ordered an investigation into the cow killing. The state's main opposition BJP and Hindu organizations have expressed concern over these incidents. It is noteworthy that earlier, incidents of cutting off the udders of three cows in Chamrajpet in Bengaluru and the tail of a cow in Nanjangud town of Mysuru had come to light. Syed Nasru, the accused in the case of cutting off the udders of cows, has been arrested.
Our heads have bowed down in shame - BJP
BJP State President B.Y. Vijayendra said that the incident in Honnavara has made everyone bow their heads in shame. He said that even then the Home Minister is pretending that the law and order situation here is good. The Siddaramaiah government is showing a soft attitude towards these anti-nationals, who have no fear. The State Government and the Home Minister should have woken up by now. Vijayendra, alleging the deterioration of law and order, said that a 'communal atmosphere' is being created in the state.
