This actress born in a Gujurati family studied bio-genetic engineering and then later switched to economics. She started her career as an economic analyst and received an offer from Morgan Stanley but turned it down. This actress who always dreamt of acting joined a theatre group and acted in plays. She also became a model and was a part of well-known brands such as Bajaj Fair & Lovely Cadburys Fem Lux and many more.
The actress first opportunity for acting came from her fathers friend Rakesh Roshan. She starred with Hrithik Roshan in Kaho Naa Pyar Hai in 2000. This was soon after her graduation. The movie became a blockbuster hit at the Indian box office.

Not many know that Ameesha was not the first choice of Humraaz the makers approached Priyanka Chopra first. Ameesha acknowledged that she has been in a similar position of replacing actors. She told Bollywood Bubble “In fact even in Humraaz I replaced Priyanka Chopra and things like that. So it all works out in the end you know—life comes full circle. And life is a great leveller. I truly believe that. I have been part of some of the biggest most iconic films in the industry so what more can I ask for? You know there is nothing I regret.”
Ameesha Patel was the highest-paid actor
When asked if she was the highest-paid actor in Humraaz Ameesha responded “Well that’s what I heard but I don’t want to go into that because that was not the criteria to which I agreed to do the film. I didn’t even know what I was going to charge or what I was going to be paid. When I heard the subject I heard it completely organically and candidly as an actor—whether I wanted to be part of the film or not.”
