Famous Bollywood director Karan Johar, who is often the subject of internet trolling, recently shared his opinions on the diminishing value of compassion. Kindness has become a “limited edition emotion” in today’s environment, Karan said on Instagram stories.

Kindness used to be a virtue, but today it’s a limited-edition feeling that’s never in stock and has far too many imitations, he wrote.

Karan has already expressed his worries on the culture of social media. In the past, he asked, “Is there a rehab for reels?” in reference to the overindulgence in short-form entertainment. He mentioned ardent reel viewers in a previous piece, suggesting that books and other traditional media were being impacted by their shorter attention spans.

Karan is still involved with the business and will host the esteemed 25th edition of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards, despite his online reflections. “IIFA is more than just an awards show—it’s a celebration of Indian cinema’s global influence,” he said, expressing his delight. It is really unique to host this historic event in the historically significant city of Jaipur, Rajasthan.

Kareena Kapoor will also pay a moving homage to her renowned grandpa, Raj Kapoor, at IIFA 2025, celebrating his legacy in film.
