Industrialist Anand Mahindra appears to have found a positive side of the infamous Bengaluru traffic. The chairman of the Mahindra Group recently visited the city to attend the Invest Karnataka 2025 Summit. Before leaving, the 65-year-old billionaire shared a humorous farewell message on X (formerly Twitter), shedding light on “one advantage of Bengaluru traffic”. He dropped a picture of the Mahindra BE 6 electric SUV while joking about how the streets became a “live showroom” for his newly launched car due to traffic congestion.

“Goodbye, Bengaluru. And thank you to my good steed in the city—the BE 6. One advantage of Bengaluru traffic: Being stationary so often makes it like a live showroom. Everyone stuck in the traffic alongside you has plenty of time to see and examine the car!” Anand Mahindra wrote on the microblogging site.

The witty post soon went viral, attracting reactions from many social media buffs. One of them feels “Bengaluru traffic is doing free marketing for Mahindra BE 6.” “Mahindra BE 6: The only car where you get test drives without even moving an inch,” added another.

An individual quipped, “Sir, don’t forget to pay for “Free live Showroom” charges. BBMP will be sending you soon (without any delay).” Anand Mahindra was also hailed for his “positive approach” to describing the traffic conditions.

“Lots to learn from you on seeing the half-filled glass,” commented a person. An auto enthusiast reckoned Bengaluru would be the perfect location to “stress test the battery capacity” of the electric SUV in “real-world conditions.”

Mahindra BE 6 is set to be rolled out soon, with booking starting on Valentine’s Day (February 14). The all-electric SUV, priced at Rs 18.9 lakh (ex-showroom), will be available in five variants– Pack One, Pack One Above, Pack Two, Pack Three Select, and Pack Three. Customers can choose from two battery pack options– 59kWh and 79kWh.

On a single charge, the BE 6 is tipped to offer a range of 682km. Thanks to a 175kW DC fast charger, the battery pack will take only 20 minutes to go from 20 per cent to 80 per cent. The top battery pack variant will clock a speed of 100 km per hour in just 6.7 seconds.
