On seeing this, the fire engulfed the first and second floors of the market.
On receiving the information, the fire brigade again reached the spot and laid siege of fire after several hours of effort and now the fire has been extinguished. After the incident, DCP Bhagirath Garhvi of Surat said that the teams of fire department have controlled the fire in the market. Meanwhile, to prevent any kind of untoward incident, the entire area was laid siege. The affected area was evacuated. He told that it has not been clear yet how much loss has been done in this fire. He told that there are more than 800 shops of textiles in this market.
All these shops have been closed. Apart from this market, other nearby shops have also been closed. On the other hand, fire brigade officials said that there was a huge fire. More than 50 fire engines were installed to control this fire. All these trains made four to five rounds. At the same time, about 200 firefighters were engaged to extinguish the fire.
