Woman, Sitting In Front Of Son's Shop, Dies After Speeding Car Rams Into Her

A 91-year-old woman died after a car crashed into her son's grocery shop in Mangaluru's Paledamara in Karnataka. The accident occurred on the evening of February 23, and it was captured on a nearby CCTV camera.
The victim, identified as Sumathi, was a resident of Vamadapadavu. She was sitting on a chair outside her son Manjunath's grocery store when the car rammed into the shop. Around 6:45 PM, a car driven by a woman named Shobha lost control while travelling from Bantwal-Manihalla towards Vamadapadavu and smashed into the shop, hitting Sumathi.
The impact left Sumathi with severe injuries. She was immediately rushed to Father Muller Hospital in Mangaluru for urgent medical care. Despite the doctors' best efforts, she succumbed to her injuries at around 11:45 PM while undergoing treatment.
A case has been registered at the Punjalakatte police station, and an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
