Prayagraj: Although the 45-day religious event known as Mahakumbh 2025 came to an end on the auspicious day of Maha Shivratri, pilgrims still go to Prayagraj‘s Triveni Sangam to take a sacred bath.
“The ‘Maha Yagya’ of humanity, the grand festival of faith, unity, and equality, Maha Kumbh-2025, Prayagraj, organized under the guidance of the respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is moving towards its culmination today with the holy bath of Maha Shivratri,” Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wrote in a post on X on Wednesday.
He said that at Mahakumbh 2025, more than 66 crore 21 lakh devotees took the holy plunge in the Triveni.
“This is memorable and unheard of in global history. The Chief Minister said, “This big assembly of peace is becoming heavenly and majestic and spreading the message of oneness to the whole globe because of the holy blessings of respected Akharas, saints, Mahamandaleshwars, and religious gurus.
In addition to thanking the millions of people who attended Triveni Sangam, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya praised the Kumbh’s historic success under Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership.
“Today, on the day of Maha Shivratri, Mahakumbh 2025 has been completed with spiritual unity, divine energy, and supernatural significance,” Maurya told ANI. After 144 years, the Mahakumbh gained national and international attention. Everything was done to ensure a peaceful Maha Kumbh under the capable direction of PM Modi and CM Yogi.
After the first Amrit Snan on Paush Purnima (January 13), the Mahakumbh came to a formal end on February 26. Makar Sankranti (January 14), Mauni Amavasya (January 29), Basant Panchami (February 3), and Maghi Purnima (February 12) were other noteworthy bathing days.
