Board Exam: Till now students used to depend on their performance in only one board exam, but under the new system they will get a chance to appear for the exam twice a year. The biggest advantage of this will be that if a student does not perform well in the first exam, then he can improve in the second exam.

This new system will come into effect from the academic session 2025-26, with the first exam to be held in January 2026 and the second in April 2026. Students will get the option to appear in both exams, and the result with better performance will be included in the final score

The Karnataka government released an official government order in 2023, allowing the Karnataka State Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) to conduct a total of three annual exams for class 10th (SSLC) and class 12th (2nd PUC) students.
