Delhi Women to Receive First Rs2,500 Installment on March 8 – Required Documents & Details

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had promised financial aid of ₹2,500 per month to women in Delhi as part of its election manifesto. Now that the party has returned to power after 27 years, many women are eagerly awaiting the implementation of this scheme. Delhi’s newly appointed Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta, has announced when the first installment will be distributed.

What is the Mahila Samridhi Yojana?

As part of its election commitments, the BJP introduced the Mahila Samridhi Yojana, under which eligible women from economically weaker sections will receive ₹2,500 per month as financial assistance. The Delhi government is currently working on finalizing the terms and conditions before launching the registration process for the scheme.

First Installment to be Disbursed on March 8

The BJP secured victory in 48 out of 70 assembly seats in Delhi. Following the formation of the new government, CM Rekha Gupta assured that all promises made during the election campaign, including financial assistance for women, will be fulfilled. The first installment of ₹2,500 will be credited directly to eligible beneficiaries' bank accounts by March 8, aligning with International Women’s Day—a symbolic move to empower women in the capital.

Essential Documents for Registration

To benefit from the Mahila Samridhi Yojana, applicants must have the following documents ready:

  • Aadhaar Card – Required for identity verification, as with most government schemes.
  • Bank Account Details – The financial assistance will be directly transferred to beneficiaries' bank accounts. If you don’t have one, opening a bank account and linking it to Aadhaar is necessary.
  • Income Certificate – Since the scheme is targeted at financially weaker sections, applicants may need to provide proof of income to determine eligibility.
  • Ration Card – This may be required for additional eligibility verification.

As the registration process begins soon, eligible women are advised to ensure their documents are updated and ready to avoid any delays in receiving financial assistance.
