M. N. Harendhira Prasad, the returning officer and district collector for Visakhapatnam, said that all preparations had been completed for the February 27 MLC election for North Andhra teachers.
On the day of the poll, around 22,493 individuals will exercise their right to vote. Pandals, bio-toilets, and drinking water were set up at the voting places.
To go to the voting places, separate queues for men and women have been established.
In North Andhra, 123 voting places were made possible by district government.
A total of 739 officers and employees have been tasked with making sure the polling process runs well. There are 295 OPVs, 148 POs, and 148 APOs among them. In addition to them, 148 micro-observers would provide further assistance throughout the polling process. Polling places are equipped with webcasting for increased security and transparency.
Thirteen voting stations are located in Visakhapatnam, twenty-nine in Vizianagaram, fifteen in Parvathipuram, eleven in Alluri Sitarama Raju district, thirty-one in Srikakulam district, and twenty-four in Anakapalli. On Thursday, voters may cast their ballots from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. According to the RO, the election process will conclude on March 8 and the counting will start on March 3. Voters, employees, and poll workers are not permitted to carry cell phones to the voting place.
