The Aam Aadmi Party said on Wednesday that it will not stop protesting the “removal” of paintings of Bhagat Singh and Bhimrao Ambedkar from the chief minister’s office after the BJP’s ascension to power in Delhi.

His party colleague Kuldeep Kumar said that his party’s lawmakers were expelled from the legislature for using the “Jai Bheem” slogan during a joint news conference with AAP MLA Sanjiv Jha.

“The AAP MLAs were suspended from the House for uttering the “Jai Bheem” slogan, while the BJP MLAs were shouting “Modi-Modi,” he stated. According to Jha, the AAP would keep protesting the “removal” of the chief minister’s office pictures, which will not be accepted. He insisted that Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh’s pictures be hung, just as they had been under the AAP’s rule.

21 AAP MLAs, including Leader of the Opposition Atishi, were suspended by Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta on Tuesday for interfering with Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena’s inauguration speech to the newly established House for a period of three days.

AAP lawmakers, including Atishi, have voiced their opposition to the purported removal of B. R. Ambedkar’s photograph from the chief minister’s office.

The AAP MLAs sang anti-move chants and said that the BJP-led government was insulting Ambedkar.

The BJP has denied the accusation and accused the AAP of generating “rumours,” claiming that images of Mahatma Gandhi, President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh were on display at the chief minister’s office.
