Filipino actress Kris Aquino, referred to as the Philippines’ “Queen of All Media” for her significant influence in the industry, revealed that at 54, she is currently neither in a relationship nor engaged.

“I’ve always been honest with all of you, for some time now I have been single, no boyfriend so clearly no fiancé,” she wrote on Instagram. “I never gave details while we were a couple so it makes no sense to elaborate now.”

Aquino’s only marriage to date was to professional basketball player James Yap, whom she married in 2005. Despite Yap’s infidelity controversy in 2006, the couple remained together until their divorce in 2012. They have two children.

In June last year, Aquino shared that she was seeing Dr. Michael Padlan, a doctor based in Makati, the Philippines, according to PhilStar.

Earlier, in Oct. 2021, Aquino announced her engagement to Filipino politician Mel Sarmiento, who served as the Secretary of the Interior and Local Government of the Philippines from 2015 to 2016, per GMA Network. However, the couple confirmed the end of their engagement in Jan. 2022.

Aquino is the youngest daughter of the late Senator Benigno Aquino Jr. and the late President Corazon Aquino—who was the first woman to hold the office of President of the Philippines. Her late brother Benigno Aquino III also served as the 15th President of the Philippines from 2010 to 2016.

She made her screen debut in 1990 and is recognized in recent years for her portrayal of Princess Intan in the acclaimed 2018 film “Crazy Rich Asians.”
